Dr Chee Yam San is an Associate Professor in the Learning Sciences & Technologies Academic Group and the Learning Sciences Lab at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University (NTU). He obtained his BSc (Econ) Hons from the London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London, and his PhD from the University of Queensland, Australia.

Prof Chee currently conducts research on learning environments and the learning sciences, focusing especially on the use of distributed  and media-rich technologies to promote learning and educational goals. His research interests span situated cognition, socio-cultural approaches to learning, and collaborative learning; new media and new literacies; virtual reality and 3D game learning environments; argumentation and critical thinking. Current research efforts deal with learning with 3D games and learning environments for the development of argumentation skills. He is currently an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Web Based Communities. He is also the Executive Editor of APSCE's journal, Research and Practice in Technology Enhanced Learning.
