Biographical Sketch

Dr  Steven Zuiker is an Assistant Professor in the Learning Sciences and Technologies Academic Group and a Researcher in the Learning Sciences Lab. He is a former USA Peace Corps Volunteer and secondary school teacher in New York City. His current research focuses on language, culture, and learning with respect to interactive digital media. Three interrelated goals of this research are to design educational games that serve the twin aims of supporting and revealing science learning; to understand the ways that game design influences individual and collective participation in classroom contexts; and to understand the ways classroom engagement with educational games impacts individual and collective performance. His previous research contributed to USA National Science Foundation-funded grants and USA National Aeronautical & Space Administration-supported evaluations of technology-enhanced curricula at Indiana University’s Center for Research on Learning & Technology and The University of Georgia’s Learning & Performance Support Laboratory.
