...A lot of people have made a very strong case for the value of educational games. They tell us that games can help our children and youth to develop creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, systems thinking and numerous other essential skills. They tell us that these skills are essential to knowledge workers in a 21st-century economy, and - furthermore - that our current methods of teaching and learning are inadequate for helping the students to develop them.
And you know what? They’re mostly right - but, just like the opening paragraph of this paper, they’re only telling us half the story.
